French stock market index, the CAC 40, gained 0.01 percent and closed at 4,888.23 points on Tuesday.

The top three gainers were Arcelormittal, up 4.58 percent, Renault, up 2.74 percent, and Schneider Electric, up 1.31 percent.

The three companies of which stock prices dropped most were Veolia Environnement, down 3.12 percent, AXA, down 1.34 percent, and Publicis Groupe, down 1.28 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 0.45 percent to close at 4,887.57 points on Monday, down 22.27 points.
