The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board, ended 0.29 percent higher to close at 1,766.39 points.

Total turnover on the two bourses shrank to 297.8 billion yuan (about 43.81 billion U.S. dollars) from 321.96 billion yuan the previous day.

Nearly 2,000 stocks across the two bourses gained, and stocks related to aviation manufacturing and home appliances led the gains.

Nearly seven in 10 Chinese-listed companies on China's NASDAQ-style board are poised to register hefty profits for the first half of the year, casting light on momentum in emerging sectors and the solid economic fundamentals of the country.

As of Monday, nearly 70 percent of 64 Chinese publicly traded companies listed on the ChiNext had forecast profit growth or projected that losses would be transferred to gains in the January-June period, according to data from Choice, a leading financial data provider.
