Introduction of the USB-Shield
USB-Shield is an ICBC patented USB key provided to you as a customer certificate and advanced security device for online banking.
USB-Shield is used for electronic signature and digital authentication for online banking. Equipped with an integrated microprocessor, it runs with 1024-bit RSA asymmetric key algorithm for encryption / decryption of online data and electronic signature to ensure confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation of online transactions. From the outlook, it resembles a USB drive. Like a shield, it offers your online banking activities with protection all the time.
USB-Shield password
After applying for your USB-Shield device, you are able to change your USB-Shield password in the following 3 ways:
· Change your password at our bank’s teller counters;
· Change your password with the certification tool software provided;
· Login onto Personal E-Banking and change your password by navigating through this navigation path: “Customer Services >> USB-Shield Management >> Password Change for Personal USB-Shield”.
If you forget your USB-Shield password, you can reset your password by bringing along your USB-Shield device and ID documents to any branch of our bank. For your own security, the system will lock the certification process after entering 6 incorrect Quotes. Presence at our bank’s teller counter is required for unlocking.

How to apply for the USB-Shield and user guide
You simply bring along your ICBC Macau bank card or account passbook together with valid ID documents in person at any one of branches to activate your Personal E-Banking account and apply for the USB-Shield.
3 simple steps to follow when you initially use USB-Shield:
Step 1: Driver installation
If this is the first time you use Personal E-Banking on your computer, please refer to the ICBC Personal E-Banking User Guide and configure your computer settings before installing the USB-Shield driver. There are various brands of USD-Shield and the driver has to be of the same brand. If you wish to use the installation CD, please use the USB-Shield CD, choose to "system upgrade" from the main installation page. The system will automatically detect and prompt you to install a patch. After the patch is installed, select "Driver Installation" to install the USB-Shield driver.
Step 2: Certificate information download
After applying your USB-Shield, our internet kiosk teller can assist you in downloading your personal certificate information into your device. You can also log into ICBC Macau’s Personal E-Banking system and navigate through "Customer Services >> USB-Shield Management>> Personal USB-Shield Certificate Information Download" to complete the certificate information download. Before downloading, please ensure that your USB-Shield is connected to the computer USB interface. If the download is unsuccessful, please proceed to a teller counter for assistance.
Step 3: Using USB-Shield
Upon logging into Personal E-banking, if you conduct outward transfer transactions such as outward transfers, remittances, payments etc., the system will instruct you to plug-in your USB-Shield into the computer and enter your USB-Shield password. After verification by the bank is successful, you are able to completing your transaction.
